Sail Lanka Charter Mooring Introduction
Sail Lanka Charter Mooring Title

Sail Lanka Charter operates the first mini marinas in Sri Lanka.

The country barely has any places for sailing boats and small yachts to moor. Since 2012 we offer mooring places on our pontoons for local and visiting boat owners. In our main base, Mirissa, the mooring facilities are open throughout the year.

Sail Lanka Charter does not only offer a berth but also maintenance and repair services. Through our sister companies, Solar Impulse and BAFF Polymech, you have access to sailmaking, fiberworks, welding, mechanical engineers, 3D printing,… In all these terrains we have built considerable expertise after the construction of more than 30 boats, production of hundreds of sails and printing of a large amount of parts for the boats.

The pontoons are located in Mirissa Fisheries Harbour, a working harbour used by fishing boats as well as by whale watching boats. The harbour is open 24/7 but is busiest between 6 am and 10 am when the fishing boats return, the whale watchers leave and the fish market opens on a 5 minute walk from the pontoons.

When you approach via the water we are the first pontoons you encounter. If you enter the harbour via land go completely to the end of the harbour and turn right onto the breakwater. The last pontoons are Sail Lanka Charter’s mooring places.

When hiring a mooring spot you will be handed a key for the lock on the gate. Fresh water and electricity can be provided. Our staff is daily on the pontoons to give you their best service and advice.

While our friendly staff provides first class customer service and give advice where needed, our sister companies can help you with supplies, repairs and maintenance.
